| 0:00.0 | Today we are breaking down the 10 players who can actually help you improve your fantasy team on the WaverWire right now. |
| 0:05.4 | As every week goes on, the WaverWire gets more and more bare, but this week actually had some pretty nice hidden gems you could say on there. Let's get into it. And we can start with a rookie running back who there is a lot of nuance in this pickup, right? but overall you should be adding Kyle Menungai |
| 0:17.5 | and basically all 12 team formats |
| 0:19.0 | and even some 10 team formats |
| 0:20.2 | that have deeper benches as well |
| 0:21.3 | because this guy finally delivered a breakout game. |
| 0:23.9 | I say finally because |
| 0:24.9 | you know, and Kyle Menungi in basically all 12 team formats and even some 10 team formats that have deeper benches as well because this guy finally delivered a breakout game. I say finally because there was some hype about all of these seventh round rookie running backs coming into the season. Obviously, Jacori Cross Kimer it being the biggest one of those. But we even had some Kyle Monongai hype and if there was a thought after the by week, maybe he'd get involved. He wasn't. After the by week, the Andre Swift saw 100% of the backfield opportunities. But two weeks after the by week now he'd get involved he wasn't after the by week the andre swift saw 100% of the backfield opportunities but two weeks after the by week now as we enter week seven |
| 0:41.6 | 13 carries for kail monongai looked awesome out there by the way 81 yards 6.2 yards per attempt |
| 0:47.2 | scores a touchdown you scroll down here he also adds two receptions for 13 yards so the seventh round |
| 0:52.9 | rookie running back just came out here and posted nearly 100 total yards, 15 opportunities. Now you have to say, it's not like he's taking over this backfield when DeAndre Swift looked awesome as well. 19 carries commanding usage, 124 yards, 6 and a half yards per attempt. By the way, this was in a game. DeAndre Swift saw over 20 opportunities again, a game when he came |
| 1:11.1 | into it injured. He was questionable for this game, like highly questionable. But man, oh man, the bears shifted to being more of a run-first team. They were able to when playing with a lead against a weaker Saints defense. You got the most carries in his NFL career, the most yards, and his first ever touchdown for common on guys. So week seven was a very big success. And you can tell that Ben Johnson had his fingerprints all over this Bears running game. It looked like the Lions running game using those two back sets. That's what it looked like right here in Chicago this past week. They finally got it clicking after a few weeks after the biweek. You could see the implemented changes on the rushing attack. And I honestly think it's going to continue. Like I think moving forward, we're going to have the DeAndre Swift be the Jemir Gibbs of this offense. Kaumanungai be the Dave of Montgomery of this offense. I think they're going to split backfield usage. This past week, we just saw career high 46% of the snaps for Kaumanungai. Now, maybe Swift only plays 52% of the snaps because he was dealing with that injury coming into the game. But I think there's a real world where you're going to see more times than not. |
| 2:02.9 | Both of these running backs be involved for 8 to 12 plus touches each, depending on the game script. Maybe DeAndre Swift is out there for a little bit more if they're trailing. Maybe if they're playing with a nice lead, Tom andungai's out there a little bit more. And Menungai was playing on third downs. As you can see right here on Fantasy Left, this LDD snaps. |
| 2:17.9 | This means long down and distance. |
| 2:19.3 | It was split 50-50. |
| 2:20.5 | So he was staying out there. |
| 2:21.5 | It was split 50-50. So he was staying out there. It wasn't like he was being subbed out for DeAndre Swift. They were each having their own drives as well in this game. So everything looked pretty good overall. Swift gets 20 opportunities, 15 opportunities go to Kaumanungi. That's solid, especially this late in the season. If an committee backfield is starting to emerge and what looks like a quality offense, definitely a improved rushing attack this past week with Ben Johnson. You would think that that can continue. Well, I want to get a piece of it, especially because it's pretty bare out there in the wave war. This is kind of the breakdown according to PFF. The light blue here, little bubble is DeAndre Swift and the dark blueungi. So you can see the goal line DeAndre Swift was still getting early down usage, though, is a near 50-50 split. 26 snaps for Swift, 23 for Menungai. You come down here, third down you were getting one more to Menongai. Two-minute offense was still going to the Andre Swift. So they were kind of splitting some of that key usage. Swift, for the most part, still operating as the clear workhorse, two-minute offense, |
| 3:10.5 | and in the red zone, but still splitting definitely the early-down usage. If you're not familiar, Kamenongai, as I've said, a seventh round rookie, he's out of Ruckers. He's had solid seasons, back-to-back years of over 1,200 yards at Ruckers, commanding 250 carries per season. |
| 3:22.1 | As you can see right here, |
| 3:23.1 | according to his college stats on player profiler, |
| 3:25.1 | he was averaging over five yards per carry. |
| 3:26.8 | Now, he was averaging |
