I've thought about this, and I sure don't know the answer, but I've noticed one thing that's a little different about Guthrie than many other people.

You know, I've hung out with him a few times now, interviewed him, ran into him on the street in L.A. at the cafe.

I booked clinics with him at Musicians Institute.

And I noticed this little thing where sometimes I'll ask him a question, or make a statement.

And instead of replying in words, he just replies with his eyes,

because maybe it's a statement that is obvious, like, nice day out, or maybe even stupid.

Or maybe the answer just doesn't need to be spoken.

But the way I take it, not making too much of this, but the way I take it is that unlike many human beings, Guthrie really listens.
