Join Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA Operations Officer, as he dives into today's top stories shaping America and the world. In this Friday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan delivers fresh intelligence on the war with Iran, explaining why a ceasefire is holding for now, what role China is playing behind the scenes, and how a fragile peace could reshape the Middle East—especially as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah threaten to derail progress.

He also breaks down a broader strategic vision emerging from the White House, including efforts to isolate Iran by securing peace between Israel and Lebanon, expanding regional alliances, and potentially redrawing energy routes that could weaken Tehran's long-term leverage. At the same time, Bryan reports rising frustration from President Trump toward European and Asian allies who have largely stayed on the sidelines, raising the possibility of a major shift in U.S. troop deployments abroad.

On the domestic front, Bryan highlights encouraging economic signals, including strong job growth, manufacturing gains, and expected relief in gas prices, while also diving into escalating legal and political battles over immigration, birthright citizenship, and federal court authority. He closes with a look at a growing workplace trend: employees quietly sabotaging AI tools as concerns mount over productivity demands and job security in an increasingly automated economy.

It's April 10th. I'm Brian Dean Wright, former CIA operations officer, and this is The Wright Report.

Hey, good day to you, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to The Right Report, Your Daily News, podcast.

0:22.5

It's Friday's headline brief, heavy on news, a bit heavier on analysis today, actually, than usual,

0:27.9

but still launching us into the weekend with events that as ever are shaping America and the world.

0:34.1

Now, before we tackle global news this morning with that fresh intel on the war with Iran

0:38.2

that I talked about and learned about yesterday, let's begin with a domestic angle. As Barron's

0:44.5

magazine reports, we are just a couple hours away, folks, from the latest consumer price index

0:49.2

numbers for March, also known as consumer inflation numbers. That's going to give us a good look at the magnitude

0:56.1

and the speed at which the war with Iran has taken a toll on our pocketbooks. The expectation is that

1:01.9

the headline inflation number is going to have gone up in March about 1% or 3.4% year over year.

1:09.7

Economists, though, across the board, told Barron's that while that is a big jump, with most of that from gas and diesel prices, it is going to be a temporary hit for maybe a couple months if we wrap up the war with Iran now. So more to come on that in just a second. But the headline here for us is that even if we see hotter inflation numbers today,

1:29.2

we should see relief and pretty soon. In fact, the folks at Gas Buddy report that fuel prices

1:35.0

were dropping yesterday in 39 U.S. states and all because of the Iran ceasefire agreement.

1:41.3

They added that you should see gas prices drop over the weekend, so keep that in mind

1:45.6

if you fuel up, you might want to wait until Sunday. In other good news, the folks at Reuters

1:50.7

report that new shipments and orders for U.S. manufactured capital goods like machinery or metal

1:55.8

parts, they increased more than expected in February. That suggests that business spending on equipment in this country is on solid footing and the U.S. economy, too.

2:05.6

So you compare that good news with the good jobs numbers that we got yesterday and last Friday,

2:10.9

with fewer people on unemployment and the American economy adding a surprising 178,000 jobs last month.

2:17.4

So that is quite good. But wait,

2:19.7

there's more. We covered how Market Watch reported that American manufacturers grew in March

2:25.2

at the fastest pace in two and a half years, even with the war in Iran. Plus, we had that
