Welcome to the Prayers of Rest podcast. I'm your host, Asherita, and today we are agreeing with God

when he says that in Christ we are richly cared for. So take a deep breath, quiet your heart as we become aware of God's loving

presence around us and within us. Today's passage comes from 2 Corinthians 9, verse 8,

and God is able to bless you abundantly. Today's passage comes from 2 Corinthians 9, verse 8.

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need,

you will abound in every good work.

Let's begin by reciting God's goodness.

Oh God, our heavenly father, how kind you are to take care of us, just like a dad or mom,

take care of their kids, provide for their needs.

Oh, how much more, Father, you provide for all of our needs. According to the riches of your glory, everything that you have in the heavenly realm you make available to us in Christ

Jesus. And we praise you for that. We're thankful for that. It reveals your good, good heart of a good father.

So look around at your life right now. Look at the many, many gifts that God the Father has given you.

And praise Him for richly caring for all of your needs. Let's continue now by expressing our neediness.

How God, it's true that you have given us so many gifts and honestly, so often we take them for granted.

So God, we just ask that you would first forgive us for that, forgive us for our entitlement, for thinking that we deserve the things that we have instead of thanking you for

them. But God, also, as we look around, there are legit areas of need. There's financial or

physical, relational, emotional needs that just seem too big for us.

So God, in those places of need, would you help us to believe and trust that you will provide

abundantly?

All things, at all times, giving us all that we need, that we might abound in every good work, all, everything

forever in Christ.
