Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Tori. It's Tuesday October 27th, 2020 and we begin with a pre-election record.

Even though we're still a week away from election day in the U.S.

Early voting this year has already surpassed the total number of early ballots in 2016.

Four years ago 58.3 million people voted before election day.

At last count, over 60 million have already cast ballots this time around.

A big reason is the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the desire to avoid too much contact with others.

Another difference this time, young voters ages 18 to 29 make up a greater share of pre-election day voting compared to four years ago.

The three states were the largest early turnout so far are New Jersey, Delaware, and Virginia.

NASA's big moon announcement didn't disappoint.

Scientists told the world yesterday that there appears to be more ice and water on the lunar service and in more places than previously thought, enough

possibly to allow astronauts to set up shop and puddle jump to other planets.

According to NASA, it's trapped in glass beads

about the size of a pencil tip in the moon's surface. In fact, one cubic

meter of soil reportedly held enough water to fill a 12 ounce bottle.

The discovery was made by a floating space laboratory above the moon known as Sophia or

stratospheric observ for Infrared Astronomy.

Actor and overall funny guy Kevin Hart has stepped into some pretty big shoes taking over from the late comedian Jerry Lewis

to host a televised fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association or MDA.

Lewis started hosting the annual effort in the 1950s and raised nearly $2 billion for the charity.
