Today is Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025. And we begin with a Springer-Dinger sending the Blue Jays to the World Series for the first

time in 32 years. Toronto was losing to the Seattle Mariners in the seventh inning of the

All or Nothing American League title game seven Monday night when George Springer launched a three-run

Homer into the first row of seats in the outfield. That flipped the lead

ultimately sent Seattle packing and set up the first ever fall classic matchup between L.A. and

Toronto. For their part, the defending champ Dodgers are chasing history. No team has repeated

as World Series champions since the 2000 New York Yankees. First pitch will be

thrown Friday at 8 p.m. Eastern in Toronto. The on-again, off-again talks to end the war in Ukraine

are apparently off again. After a high-level call between U.S. and Russian dignitaries yesterday, the White House announced

that President Trump no longer plans to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin for a second

in-person summit in the immediate future after Russia rejected Mr. Trump's demand to stop the

war in Ukraine along current battle lines. Sources say the White House may be trying to avoid a repeat of the Alaska debacle.

As a senior European diplomat told Reuters, I guess the Russians wanted too much, and it became

evident for the Americans that there will be no deal for Trump in Budapest.

The Atlantic hurricane season isn't out of steam yet.

Tropical storm Melissa, the 13th system strong enough to get a name, formed in the Caribbean

yesterday.
