And we begin with, the big apple waging a war on rats to make New York City look a little

less trashy.

Mayor Eric Adams announced this week that all households and businesses must wait until

8 p.m., four hours later than usual, to take their garbage out for street collection.

Officials hope shortening the amount of time piled up trash bags faster on the sidewalk

will keep critters at bay by cutting off what has become a road in all you can eat buffet.

The New York Times reports the proposed rules, which would go into effect in April, come

as rat sightings are through the roof up 71 percent since 2020.

The City Sanitation Commissioner said at a press conference that while the furry feasters

might not like the announcement, the rats don't run the city we do.

A mother-daughter duo are taking their love of baking to a galaxy far far away.

Catherine and Hunley Pervin from Banisha, California created a six foot replica of Han Solo

frozen in carbonate from the Star Wars movie The Empire Strikes Back, and they made it

entirely out of bread.

According to the Associated Press, the pair learned to make the so-called dead dough,

which contains flour, water, and sugar, but no yeast, and a baking conference, and started

using it to bake Halloween decorations.

Rising to the occasion this year, Hunley served as the model for the body of Han.

Her mom traced her outline onto a piece of plywood, layered it with dough, and then baked

it.
