Armed Forces history, a woman is now in charge.

Lieutenant General Laura J Richardson will be the first female commanding general of the U.S. Army Forces

Command, known as Force Com.

Richardson is no stranger to shattering glass ceilings.

She was the first female deputy commanding general to this post,

where she was boss to more than 900,000 soldiers and civilians.

Richardson joined the military in 1986, after earning her pilot's license when she was just 16 years old.

A new and very large problem for parents and school officials in the Florida

panhandle.

Heavily damaged schools in eight counties are closed until further notice.

Impacted kids have nowhere to go in the morning, no routine, no homework. A few

buildings are expected back online in a few weeks, others will take months or even years to

rebuild. And because of that, school officials say they're not trying to get kids back in their own school, just any school.
