And we begin with the high-tech world mourning the passing of a legend.

Paul Allen, who co-founded Microsoft, along with Bill Gates, has died.

The two started the company in 1975 and Allen came up with the name because they were making

software for what were then called microcomputers, what we know as desktops today.

He also helped create the Uber popular Windows operating system.

Alan stayed with the company for seven years, made a ton of money, then announced he was donating

almost all of it to charity.

At last check, he had given more than $2 billion of his wealth to a wide variety of organizations.

He also owned the Portland Trail Blazers and the Seattle

Seahawks. Alan was 65. An amazing tale of survival coming out of the rubble of Hurricane Michael. A Florida couple

trapped on their property by debris used down trees to spell out help on their

lawn. Their niece spotted the low-tech appeal using a high-tech map on Facebook.

She called rescuers who then cut their way through the property to reach the

stranded pair at two in the morning.

Elsewhere, it's clear the recovery will not be quick. The mayor of one particular... the
