| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to the Friday October 13th 2017 edition of Tesla Daily on |
| 0:11.8 | official Tesla Podcast. My name is Rob Maower. Today we're talking |
| 0:14.8 | about the Model X Recall, as well as a fossil fuel company making a big investment in electric |
| 0:19.0 | vehicle charging. Tesla stock yesterday closed up 0.30% to $355.68, this compared to the Nasdac, down |
| 0:26.7 | 0.18%. Supercharger network update, we are still at 1,018 supercharging locations. |
| 0:32.7 | The big news from yesterday is that Tesla has issued a recall for 11,000 Model X vehicles that were |
| 0:37.5 | manufactured between October 2016 and August 2017. |
| 0:42.1 | Tesla discovered an issue with some of the model X variance, the type with the fold flat second row seats. |
| 0:46.9 | The issue is that a small number of cables may need to be adjusted in a small percentage of these vehicles |

| 0:56.4 | Tesla discovered this issue when doing internal testing, so they have not received any reports of this being an issue in the real world yet. |
| 1:03.5 | And Tesla is estimating that this issue only exists in about 3% of the vehicles that were recalled, |
| 1:08.5 | so only about 330 model Xs may even have this issue. And to keep things in perspective, 330 vehicles is less than a quarter percent of the |
| 1:16.7 | Tesla vehicles that are out on the road today. |
| 1:18.5 | So it's a very isolated incident. |
| 1:22.0 | And the other important distinction is that Tesla is making this |
| 1:24.4 | recall voluntarily. So this recall is not being enforced to be happening by |
| 1:28.9 | NHTSA or anything like that. This is Tesla being proactive and deciding that they found an issue and they want to |
| 1:34.2 | recall vehicles to correct this possible issue. In an email to possibly affected |
| 1:38.7 | owners Tesla said we are doing this out of an abundance of caution. We've seen Tesla do voluntary recalls like this in the past. |
| 1:45.7 | And interestingly, whenever this happens, |
| 1:48.5 | traders pick up on the word recall with Tesla |
