And we begin with the world just a little bit smaller. A few hours ago,

Singapore Airlines reclaimed a travel record when it landed the world's

longest non-stop flight.

The plane took off from Changi Airport in Singapore yesterday, flew for 18 and a half straight hours before touching down this morning 9,537 miles away in Newark, New Jersey.

The airline tried this route years ago, but high fuel prices forced them to cancel it.

Now the non-stop is back with a much more efficient plane and 1,200 hours of movies to ease the in-flight boredom. The one thing it doesn't have is

the economy class. The only choices are premium seats or business class. Parts of the Florida panhandle will never be the same.

Hurricane Michael made landfall and history when it slammed ashore Wednesday

with winds clocked at 155 miles an hour.

The towns of Mexico Beach and Panama City took the worst of it,

with entire blocks leveled or ruined beyond repair.

Michael then charged into Georgia as a category 3 storm, the most powerful

to hit that state in more than a hundred years. It has since moved through the Carolinas

and up the East Coast. Hundreds of thousands of people are

without power and maybe for weeks. Rebuilding the hardest hit communities will
