Today is Friday, October 10th, 2025. And we begin with a real chance for peace in the Middle East.

Cheers went up in both Israel and Gaza yesterday when word came down that the two warring sides had agreed, in principle, to end their

devastating two-year war. It's not a done deal, but it's as close as they've come to date.

At the heart of the pact is the release of all remaining Israeli hostages

as early as Monday or Tuesday in exchange for the freeing of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

During this so-called first phase, Israel will also pull back some of its troops in Gaza and

allow for aid to reach people in need. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has invited President Trump,

who helped broker the agreement, to speak to the Knesset, his country's parliament. He'd be the

first sitting president to do so since President George W. Bush in 2008.

It's due or die time for the Phoenix Mercury. The Vegas Aces are up three games to zero in the best of seven WNVA finals with Game 4 tonight. According to the New York Times, this series is posting the biggest viewership in decades. But that's not the only news from the hard courts. A brand new global league called Project B is getting

ready to tip off next fall. It will start with a women's league and send six teams on mini-tournament

stops, short, two-week bursts of games in cities across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Grady

Burnett, one of the group's co-founders, has confirmed some WNBA players have already

signed on to join the Upstart League, which will run from November through April and not

conflict with the WNBA season, at least for now. Players will likely be paid more money than

they currently make and even get some equity, a slice of ownership to share in the league's success.
