0:10.9	You all know that I find this to be just this endless loop of attention seeking behaviors
0:18.0	and hurting Americans for no real reason for a mechanism that's optional.
0:23.5	There's no rule that says the government has to shut down.
0:26.9	There's no rule that says this is how governments must be funded and if a budget is not
0:32.4	agreed to, the government shuts down.
0:35.0	This is something that is done by political choice. It started with
0:38.4	Reagan during the 80s. I explained a little bit about it yesterday. And so where I kind of find myself
0:43.7	is number one, obviously is a political show. If the government is shut down, I have to address
0:51.0	it. On the other hand, as I said yesterday, I hate participating in this political game that is only

1:01.2	It's never good for anyone out there in the world when the government shuts down.
1:05.6	And it's also not good for anyone out there in the world when media coverage becomes about

1:11.6	did they cancel the meeting or did they do it and why won't they say a vote for a clean resolution.
1:16.7	I think the only people that win are the opportunist elected officials.
1:21.4	This includes Democrats and Republicans, although for different reasons and different circumstances
1:25.8	depending on who's in power. But at the same time, I do have to address it.
1:29.3	And so what I'm going to try to do is really focus in on the political consequences, but I want
1:33.5	to restate, not that people who listen to the show wouldn't know by now.
1:37.1	I want to restate that this is a completely optional thing.
