So welcome back to this new session of the Vedanta study group

This session we are going to start with this text, Vedantasara of Saddhananda

Yogyndra. This is the translation by Swami Nikhilaananda. And I have given you a PDF of the text.

You should have received it with the email in which you got the link. So you can

have the PDF on your computer just for reference. If you don't have the book, it's much better

to have the book so that you can follow along with it. Now, what is this text and what are we doing? The whole purpose of the Vedanta

study group was to have an advanced study group where you could study, the original texts,

sources of Vedanta, in some depth. So we have done various kinds of texts.

We have in Hollywood I did the Drigrisha Viveka and then we did the Aparoaksha-Nabhuti.

That was in general for everybody.

But in the Vedanta study group, we at one time we did a little bit of the Panchadashi.

And recently we have been doing the Mandu Kupanishan.

The fundamental texts of Adwaita Vedanta,

the fundamental texts of Adwaita Vedanta are the Upanishads.

In fact, Vedantā itself is the Upanishads are collectively known as Vedant.

It's one definition of Vedantamtha.

And the wisdom of the Upanishads was given out in a practical form by Krishna to Arjun and the Bhagavad Gita.

So that has also become one of the fundamental texts of Vedant.
