This podcast today is just about the question of what is this podcast and how did it start?

street and so sarah why don't you start because this podcast was actually your idea actually

your mom's idea so let's let's tell the story of that.

Yeah. Okay. So the roots of it go a little bit deeper than my conversation with my mom because it stretches back to 2016 is when I really started thinking, how do I communicate with my daughters? So I have three daughters and one son. How do I communicate with my

daughters what a strong woman means, what it can look like? And it goes back to the Women's March in

2016, where a different definition of strength was being promoted.

And the strength was like pursue your own happiness,

kind of a middle finger to all the chauvinistic men.

You know, we don't need them.

Kind of this angry version or independent.

I don't need anybody else kind of version.

And I just thought, oh, that's not beautiful strength.

That's not what strength is all about.

And I feel like the word strength, freedom, love, choice, all those words

have been hijacked and put into this different narrative.

And I want to say, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, hold up.

Let's, you know, how can we view this correctly and place it in the big story where it belongs, you know?
