and a lie unto

a lie unto my pad to my path.

Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

systematic study of the entire Bible chapter by chapter book by book.

In our study through First Samuel we have been following the struggle of David as he is being

pursued by King Saul.

Because of jealousy, the unrighteous Saul is trying to kill the righteous David.

After a long time, David finally just decides to go over to the enemy territory where he assumes that he will be safe.

As Pastor John taught us, this is always a mistake and we sometimes do the same thing.

Sometimes we just get weary of the battles that we are fighting

and think that we can find rest and relief in going into the world.

We may find rest for a little while, but then big problems come our way.

As we continue our story today in 1st Samuel chapter 28, this is exactly what is happening to David. He has enjoyed relative peace for about

16 months, but now he is going to be in big trouble. Let's now join Pastor John as we learn from David's mistakes.

Well it came to pass in those days that the Philistines gathered their armies together

for warfare to fight with Israel. And Aikish said to David,

Know thou assuredly that thou shall go with me to battle you and your men.
