Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a systematic

study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

We have been looking at a story that is both exciting and sad.

It is the story of Saul and Jonathan found in 1st Samuel 14. It is exciting because we see

Jonathan doing so well. He listens to God and has faith in God.

At the same time, his father, Saul, acts impulsively

and doesn't heed the word of God.

On our last program, we saw where Saul made a foolish rash oath.

He said that none of his army could eat anything until they had beaten the enemy.

This made them weak, and when they finally defeated the enemy they were so hungry that

they ate unclean food. In the meantime Jonathan had not heard the oath and ate

some honey and his eyes were brightened. As we join

pastor John today, remember that God calls the word of God

honey for our soul. Here now is

If I don't have a little bit of Here now is, is, Pastor John.

If I don't have a little bit of the honey, I'll end up eating of the unclean meat, the flesh. It happens. It happens all the time. If my eyes are enlightened because I've dipped into the word and been reinvigorated. You know what happens? I go through a day and
