Hello and welcome to the Monday October 15th

2018 of Tesla Daily Unofficial Tesla Podcast. My name is Raut Maower, we hit a pretty quiet weekend

and a pretty quiet Monday, so just a few quick notes to catch up on here today. It'll be a bit of a shorter

episode. Tesla's talk on the day, a little bit of an up and down day but finishing the day in the green up 0.31% to

$259.59 cents this compared to the Nasdac down 0.88%. We got a little bit of news today from the Tesla Twitter account

and I think a nice change.

That account tweeted out a photo of a model 3 gearbox

and motor that had been tested for 1 million miles.

Certainly not my area of expertise,

but the gears from this photo look extremely clean.

It basically looks new, and Tesla described these photos by saying quote the model

three drive system is designed and validated for over 1 million miles.

Tesla's had the goal of creating a million mile drive train for a few years now.

Despite Tesla's relatively affirmative description in this tweet, I'm not fully ready

to say that they've completely achieved that, just because they haven't really shared any data on the percentage of drive trains that are able to get to that level or anything like that.

But on the other hand, it does demonstrate that it has become possible for Tesla to achieve.

That is encouraging for obvious reasons for the model three, extending the possible utility

of those vehicles even longer, which is extremely beneficial both for personal ownership

but also for the potential of the model 3 as a service vehicle, whether it's autonomous or not.

The longer the lifespan of an electric vehicle, the more time that it has to accrue the benefits of

lower operating costs versus an internal combustion engine vehicle so you're kind of getting
