chronicles chapter 21 and we are almost done with this book I know you're going to

oh but there's a lot of chapters left I've counted skip. You don't know what you're talking about.

Well, if you counted them, perhaps you notice that a lot of it is the details of names that are given once again

in numbers of different groups that we're not going to get into the weeds with. So really, we are almost done with the book.

A couple more weeks, and we should have this book under our belt.

But, Father, we come before you, first of all,

and we pray, Lord, that you will keep our minds, our hearts, engaged in word that we might hear and study and apply the written

word that we might have a closer relationship with Jesus Christ, the living word.

We want to conform, Lord, to the image of Christ. We want to be more

like Jesus. And Father, we pray that as we read through what was in the time of Jesus, part of

His Bible, the Bible of Paul and Peter and John, the

early church.

I pray that we might understand some of the stories that form the very foundation of our

faith and learn and grow. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. When David was much younger than

what we're about to read about him, when he was a younger man, he wrote a psalm. And that psalm, he wrote many of them, but one of the Psalms is Psalm 20.

And in the 20th Psalm, David writes,

Some trust in chariots and some in horses.

But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

And David practiced what he preached, at least at that time in his life.
