Aviator Sagamore Institute, to comment on a document that Jerry's made generously to me, It's not secret. Navy force structure and

shipbuilding plans, background and issues for Congress. There's a lot of detail in

special language here. I don't understand, but numbers I get. The Navy is under 300 now.

Its ambition is 355. This document, however, speaks of the number 385. That's 11 ships built a year for 35 years, taking into account

retirements. There is also the number 381 floating around. Jerry, a very good evening

to you, I like these numbers

immediately and long term. What's the 381 number? Is that adequate? Good

evening to you, Jerry. Good evening, John.

So 381 is not adequate.

When we actually put out the 355 number, which came out in December of 2016

as the Obama administration was leaving office.

That number represented the minimum number required to meet the minimum combat commander requirements around the world.

The actual number, if you've actually looked at sort of the median of all the requests for

Navy ships with all the contingencies are going on and and right now if you look at

what's happening with the Red Sea tonight you know there's three carrier strike groups underway.

The real number is around 450 ships about 456 is actually my calculation but the

381 number comes from the United States Navy in June of 2023 they put out a document where they talked about a

requirement for 381 ships.

By the way, that is the Navy's number.
