Ukraine. Mr. Trump and his conversation over these last days has changed the direction of the

reporting and of London. So I go through some of the details we've had over these last days in order to take advantage

of John Hardy of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy's wide knowledge of the Ukraine

conflict.

John, a very good day to you.

Zelensky, ready to give up Crimea, says President Trump, following the meeting in Rome on Saturday.

And then Putin announces ceasefire three days, says the London telegraph.

And then ceasefire is Putin's attempt to placate Trump, says the London telegraph.

And this, Trump, quote, increasingly frustrated with Zelensky and Putin.

That's from the American side. None of this is written in stone. I don't even think it's

written on wet sand, John, so I'll come to you, starting with that event in Rome. The photograph

of the two men sitting there by themselves in the Vatican on

banquet chairs reminded some of us of the meeting between Napoleon I and Alexander I,

in Tilsett in 1807, leading to a momentary truce in the battle between Napoleon and the rest of the continent.

They met on a raft in a river by themselves.

We do not see any note takers, any translators, we do not see security near them.

We see no one that we can tell in earshot.

What do we believe that they discussed or settled on or asked questions about in that meeting?

And is it reflected by these headlines coming out of London?
