I welcome my colleague and friend Gregory Copley of Defense and Foreign Affairs.

We begin in Syria, all eyes on the non-transparent and extremely fragile situation in Syria.

This is at the center after a more than a decade of civil war, millions of refugees having fled

in all directions to Jordan, to Lebanon, to Turkey, to Europe. And now we're told a man who has the Namdegar al-Jalani, Abu Mahamahmahmah,

al-Jalani, a Syrian national, is in charge of Damascus and of Syria, and in charge of making

the government work again. We're told this. However, it's important to remember that Al-Jolani is a man who is a veteran of

al-Qaeda training in an Afghanistan camp for several years and then transferring to Syria

being pulled in one way direction and another by the split between Baghdadi of ISIS and al-Qaeda, going with Baghdaddy

until an if, and then back to Idlib to run what was called the Nusra front, and that is now

transformed itself into the HTS. In other words, walks like a duck and talks like a duck,

and certainly has earned the title of jihadi.

However, Gregory, a very good evening to you.

I don't want to look past the obvious.

He looks like a jihadist.

Is that significant given the turmoil in Syria?

This is going to be the hard part going forward for President Erdogan of Turkey, who has funded both ISIS and Al-Nusra and the like, all of the groups basically in their, in recent years.
