In general, I've understood that China invests loans, promotes in Africa, in exchange for natural resources, and authority.

Politics often looks like colonial mastery.

In this case, it's the colonial mastery of debt.

However, there is reason to pause now and consider what was China's ambition when it first entered Africa, in the late 20th century and the early 21st century.
