14 people killed and at least 35 injured in what authorities call a terrorist attack in New

Orleans. However, there is a lot of information that is very difficult to line up, and so I need

Bill Rajo of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy. He keeps the Long War Journal.

Bill and his colleagues have for decades been watching

the ideology known as al-Qaeda, and then since 2014 or so, the ideology known as ISIS. Both those

names come to mind when you see something called a terrorist attack, and that's how the FBI is characterizing the attack in New Orleans.

As of yet, I do not see that word attached to the apparent attack in Las Vegas.

So we'll speak carefully here.

First, because that is necessary over the years of reporting with Bill,

the first three reports are always wrong. Jumping the conclusion misleads you.

Stating things that are not confirmed means you can be off course. How does this help anyone at

that point to tell a better story than the fact support? Bill,

attack and when you learned about the Las Vegas explosion. What were your thoughts, Bill,

thoughts when I saw the news of New Orleans, I did immediately suspect that this was a terrorist attack.

We've seen these ramming style attacks occur in Europe, usually at Christmas markets and

other events where large people gather.
