This is CBS. I on the world. I'm John Batchel. Antitrust. It is an antique from the late 19th,

early 20th century, attaching itself to the sugar trust, the traction trust, the glumber

trust, the railroad trust. that's where it comes from.

But antitrust has gone through, I learned from Jessica Maluton, writing at the Civitas Institute at the University of Texas.

Antitrust has gone through transformations so that I'm sure that Senator Sherman and others would not recognize today the argument we're

about to have.

This is fun because thanks to Jessica's most recent piece at Civitas, I've caught up a little

bit with some of the specialized language that's necessary here in the 21st century to talk

about antitrust.
