Gunfire in the Western Balkans, deployment of major military units in the Western Balkans.

UN alarmed, the US alarmed. Great Britain alarmed. I welcome

Ivana Strodner of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies,

writing most recently at the London Telegraph about the violence.

This is non-transparent. We just have big items here, but there's a long-standing enmity

between Serbia and the rest of the Western Balkans, especially since the partition of Serbia,

the separation of Serbia in the first decade of this century into the entity,

the enterprise known as Kosovo. Ivana, a very good even to you, as I understand it,

this violence begins on the 24th of September in a village called Banska. There's gunfire,

there are casualties, a monastery. The Kosovo diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church

says a temple of the monastery at Banska was locked down after the gunmen stormed it.

The gunmen got away. Since then, of course, the the enmity has escalated.

You're understanding right now of this violence at Banska, where it came from, why? Kosovo is

saying this was a terrorist incident. Serbia is saying very not very much. Has this happened before

...
