This episode is about the 400-year anniversary of the pilgrims. That's right. 400 years ago,

the pilgrims landed in Plymouth. They took the Mayflower over here 400 years ago. Sounds like a long time, but

kind of not really either. That's crazy. Just 400 years ago. But we're going to learn about the story,

the real pilgrim story. That's why I have on John Turner. He is the author of a book called,

They knew they were pilgrims, Plymouth Colony, and the Contest for American

Liberty. So John, what a good name, too, John Turner. Sounds like he could have been on the

Mayflower. But we talk about what it was really like. We covered the story you learned in grade

school and elementary school of how the pilgrims worked and and that first

Thanksgiving and everything. But we're going to dive down and give the whole story that you

kind of got a half right story. We're going to get the whole story. So let's, I'm going to stop

Hi, Travis. Great to be with you. Yes, with a name like John Turner, I feel like you could be,

you could fit right in with these pilgrims. Well, yeah, well, there was a John Turner on the Mayflower,

but he and his sons didn't survive the first winter, so I can't claim dissent from him.

Unfortunately, that would really help my cachet as a, you know, historian of Flomuth colony.
