Hey everybody, it's Joe Lampel, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe Gardner

Show.

Today we're back with Dr. Lee Reich, as I mentioned two episodes back.

We're going to pick up again on his love of fruit, but this time it's about uncommon

fruits for every garden.

And the reason why I wanted to have this discussion with Lee today, first of all he's

an expert in this category, and he has a real passion for fruit, especially uncommon

fruit.

And one of the reasons for that is because of their marketability in the grocery store,

and that has a lot to do with shipping, and if it doesn't ship well, then a lot of times

the grocery stores don't want to deal with it.

That doesn't mean it's not a better tasting fruit, and in many cases it is.

They're easier to grow in many cases because they don't have some of the same pest and disease

issues.

So with that, I thought we would pick Lee's brain today and cherry pick, no pun intended,

some of the features in his book on uncommon fruits to wet your appetite on some of the

possibilities that are out there on what you could be growing that you may not be all

that familiar with.
