Hello. Hello, Winebbers. My name is Jesse Meekham and this is

podcast number 97 for You Need a Budget, where we teach you four rules to

help you stop living paycheck to

paycheck get out of debt and save more money and you do it a lot of times sharing

your finances with a spouse or partner and things get tricky and rocky and I think I had a massive

revelation over the weekend so I'm glad that I put this podcast off until now.

I've always said that my wife, Julie, and I,

budged together. And we do. We would sit down and we would talk over the budget.

I would do the heavy lifting in that I would make sure our accounts were reconciled.

Everything was entered and categorized if I had questions about receipts, I would ask

Julie, specifically receipts were splits were necessary. About a year ago, we got a little more than a year ago Julie got an iPhone and we got her on the

whinab iPhone app and she's been even better now about entering receipts in her phone. She's actually pretty good at it.

She's just building in the habit now of entering that on her phone when she purchases something

on Amazon or does some of their online purchase where the flow wasn't there yet.

Walmart or Target or wherever where she was walking out of the store.

She'd load the kids up in the car, sit down in the car, and then enter the receipt right there.

And it was working well.

So I liked that and felt like we've made progress.

The business is also on a budget.

Julia doesn't have anything to do with that. And that's just all me.

I have the business on a buffer. We have rainy day funds. I handle over spending the same way, and so basically, and then give every

dollar a job.
