have the hope here that over the next few episodes I can address one of the most common things that I think we as people, not just believers in Christ, struggle with. And that is dealing

with those difficult times in life, times when reality is that our particular lot in life is hard.

There are discouragements, there are losses,

there are circumstances that we are walking through that are in no way

pleasant and it's in those times that we can get so discouraged. So I wanted to look at

some scriptures that would help us in those kinds of seasons and if you

don't find yourself in a season like that presently, perhaps you can just listen real carefully, take some notes and tuck it away for a time when you may need it

so that you can pull it out or you can even jot down this particular episode of the podcast

to come back to in those seasons.

You know, and that brings me to kind of a side note,

something I found to be very helpful in my life,

and that is to create what I have come to call an anti-depression list.

And that may sound like a kind of a funny thing but what it is is it's just a list of

things that I find joy in in life. It may be certain songs, it may be certain poems,

it may be certain books or places or people or memories, perhaps photos, and just make a bullet point list of

them. And when I get into a situation where I find myself feeling like I'm leaning toward depression,

I pull out that list and I intentionally go and do or enjoy or see

something on that list, whatever's resonating with me at that

moment and I feel like this is an intentional way that each of us can avail ourselves of the blessings that God has given us.
