Hi everybody, it's Joe Lampel, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe Gardner

Show.

Today we're having another conversation with a Renaissance man and Gardner extraordinaire,

Dr. Lee Reich.

Lee has been on the show several times because he is so good at certain aspects of the information

we need to know as home gardener, such as composting and pruning, and the science behind

a lot about how plants grow and what they do and why they do it.

Well, Lee understands all that, he's a PhD, and he is the ever curious Gardner.

In fact, he wrote a book by that same title, that's his newest book, but he's also written

several other books, including his best-selling book, Weedless Gardening, the pruning book,

landscaping with fruit, uncommon fruits for every garden, and grow fruit naturally.

So I thought, gosh, we've talked about so many other things with Lee, and they've all

been great conversations, but we've never had a conversation or a podcast with anyone

about growing fruit in our backyards.

We're always talking about growing vegetables and how to incorporate those into a garden

or into the landscape, but what about fruit?

It gets neglected, it never gets talked about enough, it's the unsung hero, and I'm sure

the reason for that is we just think it's harder, or it requires more inputs, or there's too
