Nicole Rogas Pulia.

She is an assistant professor in the Departments of Medicine and Surgery at the University of

Wisconsin Madison and Director at the University of Wisconsin

Madison and Director of the Swallowing and Salavery

Bioscience Lab at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans

Hospital.

Dr. Rogas Pulia also serves as director of the multi-site VA intensive

dysphagia treatment program. The goal of her research program is to

systematically identify factors underlying dysphagia in older adults and to

translate these findings into novel

evidence-based treatments for prevention of negative health consequences including pneumonia development.

Dr. Rogus Pulia receives funding from the National Institute on Aging, the Veterans Health Administration,

the University of Wisconsin Head and Net Cancer Specialized Program of Research Excellence,

and the Wisconsin-Alzheimer's Disease Research Center to support this work.
