Today I'm thrilled to have Dr. Susan Averitt with me today. She is the

founder of a group here in northwest Arkansas called Parents Left Behind.

It is obviously for parents whose children have tragically died.

The group has been in existence now for a few years but has its fourth annual seminar on August the 25th of this year.

So we're going to be talking about more of the details of that particular seminar,

parents left behind in general, and get more information about

Susan's own very private tragic journey.

She's a pediatrician with 18 years in clinical practice, and she lives in Northwest Arkansas and is the physician owner of Best

Start Pediatric Clinic.

She's the mother of three living daughters and one angel daughter. Since that daughter's death, Cameron is her name, Dr

Avery has become an advocate for bereaved parents. She founded parents

left behind a group that supports parents on their lifelong journey of grief after the death of a child.

Now this is a very difficult topic.

Any of you who may have actually experienced the death of a child who is a loved one, maybe your own biological

child or someone you loved.
