Today is Wednesday, September 27, 2023, and we begin with another big tech behemoth facing the heat.

In a sweeping lawsuit, the Federal Trade Commission and 17 states are suing the e-commerce giant Amazon,

saying the company abused its powers by illegally stifling competition.

According to The New York Times, the FTC alleges the company boosts its own products and search results

over others that are better quality, while at the same time charging high fees to third-party sellers

that rely on Amazon to stay in business.

The 172-page lawsuit marks the biggest regulatory threat Amazon has faced in its 30-year history,

and antitrust experts say the outcome could alter how Americans shop online.

Amazon has denied all charges and now joins Google and Meta in battles with the US government

over concerns that they use their size and strength to limit fair competition.

Lego is scrapping plans to make its trademark bricks from recycled bottles.

The Danish toymaker announced the bottles to bricks idea two years ago in attempt to cut out crude oil

from the manufacturing process and make their pieces more sustainable.
