Tori today is Friday September 25th 2020 and we begin with a glimmer of hope

for those wanting to return to old-fashioned in-person

classes. Although colleges are having a big problem with COVID, early reports seem

to show that the expected crush of back-to-school cases isn't happening in

younger grades. Researchers at Brown University release their first set of

data from its National School response study,

and it reportedly shows a much lower rate of spread

than originally feared.

According to the Washington Post,

550 schools were followed,

300 of which have at least some in-person classes.

The number of confirmed cases among students and teachers, less than 1%.

One professor said the findings seem to suggest that school openings are less risky than once thought.

But she also said these are early days and cautioned against rushing back without safety protocols in place.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg continues to make history.

A week after her passing, the Supreme Court Justice is today the first woman to ever lie in state at the U.S. Capitol.

It's an honor typically reserved for presidents, prominent members of Congress, and high-ranking military.

This morning's service is for invited guests only, and follows two days of public morning just

across the street atop the steps of the Supreme Court building.

Tomorrow President Trump is expected to name his top choice for Justice Ginsburg's now vacant seat.

The leading contender still seems to be Judge Amy Coney Barrett of Indiana with Judge Barbara
