Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Tori. Today is Thursday, September 13th, 2018, and we begin with the all-important

congressional midterm elections less than eight weeks away.

As the political battle heats up,

two former presidents are hitting the road

to help their respective parties.

Last Friday, former President Barack Obama, a Democrat, gave his first public speech since leaving

office last year, commenting on the current political landscape.

The next day he campaigned on behalf of seven Democratic candidates in Orange County, California, a district

that tends to vote Republican.

On the other side of the aisle, George W Bush, the former Republican president, kicked

off a series of GOP fundraisers yesterday in Fort Worth, Texas.

Both parties are fighting for control of the House and Senate, which are currently controlled by Republicans.

Voting takes place on Tuesday, November 6.

She may not be Little Miss Manners, but nine-year-old Michigan resident Kinsley James

knows how to think outside the bun. On a recent night, Kingsley wanted Taco Bell for dinner. Her mom said no. So the third grader who's learning persuasive writing skills in school wrote a letter to the corporate office.

She complained about her mean mom and then asked if the fast food chain delivers

since she can't drive. They don't. But after her mom shared the letter on Facebook, Mean Mom

comment and all, the fast food company invited Kinesley to speak at their

annual convention in Las Vegas later this month. She's going and we bet she'll finally get her tacos.
