Summary

After hearing about how often Fallon and Harrison go out, Emma feels she and Ed are really boring in comparison. She asks George what he thinks and gets the unsurprising answer: they are both dull as ditch water. George doesn’t accept any of Ed’s reasons for not going out and tells Emma she’s always moaning about something. They find George rude but ultimately accept what he’s saying. Emma reflects that she’s been complaining about the logs lying around on the rewilding site because it really bothers her that they are not being put to use. Ed’s surprised to hear that Emma has come round to Eddie’s suggestion that they should steal the logs – she justifies it by declaring that it would be for a good cause, helping people to keep warm. Emma thinks it’s time they did something completely unpredictable. Ed thinks this change in Emma is exciting and agrees to her plan. David’s not looking forward to being busy with barn bookings up to Christmas. Ruth’s just grateful for the income. Ben plucks up the courage to tell his parents that he’d had suicidal thoughts. He didn’t want to tell them at the time because he felt like he was letting them down. He sees now that he shouldn’t have bottled up his feelings. Ruth impresses on Ben that they love and care for him however busy they seem. Later, David despairs that Ben wasn’t able to come to him and Ruth when he was at his lowest. Ruth affirms they have to make Ben their number one priority.
