Now, if you listen to this show for any length of time, occasionally I will get phone calls, of all types, but phone calls regarding trademarks.

And someone gets a trademark, and someone else is using it, and I want to sue, trademark violation, how do I file?

And those are pretty run of the mill.

And I try to get, you know, stories out of that because it's really not my legal advice that this show is about.

Because if you think it's about legal advice, you are in a whole different planet.

It's about the stories.

It is about people and what they go through. And here is one

regarding copyright, which is, come on. I mean, that's boring as hell. But not necessarily this one.

This one has to do with Mavericks basketball star Luca Duncich, who I don't know, he comes from some Balkan country.

And what he did in 2018, his rookie year, he allowed his mom to register his name as a trademark,

and then go ahead and use it for financial purposes.

Well, they had a falling out.

So then he tries to get his mom, writes to her and says, I want your company to give up the

trademark and give it back to me.

And she told him to go pound sand.

And so they're in the middle of a massive legal battle as to his name.

Now, does that help that it's his name?

Yeah, it helps a lot.

I mean, someone else owning his name, even his mom, even with his permission, and she's

arguing no.

No, a deal is a deal.
