Adam Hect seemed to be living the life most people dream of.

Growing up in luxury, the son of a famous film producer with a loving mother and five

siblings to spend time with.

He'd rub elbows with celebrities, attend good schools, wear nice clothes, and learn to

drive in beautiful cars.

For many people, that's the American dream, and yet for Adam, the glamour of it all

was beginning to wear off.

In his mid-20s, Adam had a successful business working as a tennis instructor, but the

older he got, the more he seemed to question the nature of the environment in which he

lived.

In a search for meaning, Adam began volunteering at homeless shelters and missions.

While it was hoped he would find himself in the pursuit of helping others, he may have

instead lost who he had been.

Adam had began with philanthropy slowly became something else.

Adam would move a homeless man named Tony into his apartment.

The more time Adam spent with Tony, the more he seemed to change, and soon Adam was spending

nights out on the streets amongst the homeless.

In June of 1989, Adam vanished, and when his family tried to track him down, all they

found was Tony, living in Adam's apartment, apparently with no knowledge of his whereabouts.

What happened to Adam Heck?
