guest is Dr. Louise for Kelmay. Louise is currently the director for the

Center for Swallowing in Speech Pathology at New York Presbyterian

Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and Associate Professor of Speech Language Pathology at New York Medical

College. He completed his master's degree at Columbia University and PhD at the Graduate Center of City University of New York.

Dr. Rakelmea's authored articles on dysphagia, multiculturalism, and quality improvement.

His current research includes changes in swallow

physiology and persons with dementia and swallow differences in the presence

of pills. Louise has served on several local and national boards and committees

including chair of American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders, Chair of the New York State Board of Swallowing

and Swallowing Disorders, Chair of the New York State Board for Speech Language Pathology

and Audiology, past President of the New York State Speech Language Hearing Association

and several others.

He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors

of the International Disphasia Diet Standardization Initiative.
