own trail. The fear of missing out is this all-consuming fear that you're missing out in some way, perhaps

in what your peers are doing, what they know about, or what they're in possession of,

and that somehow their life is better than the one that you are living.

Nearly three-quarters of young adults have reported that they have experienced this feeling,

this fear of missing out. And this oftentimes leads to continuous checking of social media,

which we think will alleviate that anxiety. We do that because it feels soothing, but then it

really just exacerbates it. It makes it so much worse.
