Join Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA Operations Officer, as he dives into today's top stories shaping America and the world. In this Monday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, we cover immigration raids from Boston to Savannah, the latest jobs report and economic culprits, Venezuela's narco-terror fight, China's alignment with Russia, Zelenskyy's swipe at Trump, and a Pentagon name change with global implications.

Quick hits to launch your week with the facts shaping America's future.

Immigration Crackdowns:
Operation Patriot 2.0 launched in Massachusetts targeting violent criminals shielded by sanctuary laws. Trump teased Chicago raids with an "Apocalypse Now" meme, while a Savannah raid at Hyundai's mega-factory nabbed 475 illegals — the largest single-site operation in DHS history.

Jobs Report Disappoints:
Only 22,000 jobs were added in August, with revisions showing losses in June. Native-born employment is rising as 820,000 foreign workers have left, but debate rages over whether the culprits are Jerome Powell's high rates, Trump's tariff wars, Silicon Valley's AI revolution, or Biden's weak foundation.

Venezuela Narco-Terror Strike Debate:
Trump sank a Tren de Aragua drug boat, killing 11. Democrats and Sen. Rand Paul demand Coast Guard arrests, while Trump's War Secretary Pete Hegseth insists, "A drug cartel is no different than al Qaeda."

China, Russia, and India Align:
Trump blasted, "Looks like we've lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest China." Reuters revealed Beijing firms sold $50 million in drone parts and military supplies to Moscow, tightening the Xi-Putin alliance.

Zelenskyy Criticizes Trump Over Alaska Summit:
The Ukrainian president told ABC it was "a pity" Trump gave Putin legitimacy. Yet he admitted, "President Trump is right about the Europeans," as EU nations import record Russian gas despite sanctions.

Department of Defense Renamed:
The White House rebrands it the Department of War, reflecting a more aggressive posture from Venezuela to Ukraine and the Pacific.

Hey, good day to you, ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to The Right Report, Your Daily News, podcast.

0:22.5

It's a Monday headline brief, heavier on news, lighter on analysis, launching us into the week with events that, as ever, are shaping America and the world.

0:32.4

We begin with domestic news this morning, starting with immigration crackdowns.

0:37.4

President Trump's teams started with a launch into Boston over the weekend, with Bloomberg

0:41.0

News reporting on what is being called Operation Patriot 2.0.

0:45.8

So we start here with something that you might not know.

0:48.5

The state of Massachusetts is notorious for releasing illegal aliens back onto the streets,

0:53.2

even though they are violent criminals,

0:55.3

all because of a state Supreme Court ruling or case back in 2017 that found that state and

1:00.1

a local law enforcement must not detain people solely based on federal immigration detainers.

1:05.8

In other words, if an illegal is charged, say, with a violent crime and they can post bail,

1:09.9

they can get out instead of being deported.

1:13.3

Now, in Massachusetts, those defendants can range from alleged drug dealers to child molesters, from rapists to other violent criminals.

1:20.9

As Worcester County Sheriff, Louis Evangolitis told CBS News last March, it is infuriating for him and his guys when they have to watch drug dealers or other thugs walk out of jail when they could be sent home, get deported.

1:33.6

But that is the law in Massachusetts. If these people post bail, then they get out, walk the streets protected by the state.

1:40.4

And that is why President Trump and his team are focused on this sanctuary state. Indeed, they did on Friday and over the weekend, arrested dozens of gang members,

1:48.4

drug traffickers, men accused of sexual assault.

1:51.3

They and others were wrapped up after local law enforcement had to, of course, let them out.

1:57.1

Meanwhile, President Trump posted on social media over the weekend that immigration raids in Chicago are back on.

2:03.0

USA Today reports that the president posted a meme on Saturday.

2:07.2

It was based on the movie Apocalypse Now.
