Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Kim. Today is Monday, August 30th, 2021, and

we begin with Aida living up to all the Hurricane hype and weather warnings. The storm slammed

a shore not once, but twice near New Orleans, Louisiana yesterday, 16 years to the day of

historic Hurricane Katrina. Aida made landfall as a category 4, with catastrophic wind speeds

of 150 miles an hour, just 7 miles an hour shy of a category 5, and high enough to at

least tie the record for strongest weather system to ever hit the state. Video shows downed

power lines, missing roofs, and torrential flooding. Aida is weakening now that it's over

land, but is expected to cause more problems as it passes through Mississippi today and

Tennessee tomorrow.

Here's all the proof you need that rock and roll dreams do come true. Last year, 10-year-old

Nandie Bushell of the UK drummed up a lot of attention when she challenged Foo Fighters

frontman Dave Grohl to an online drum-off. He took her up on it and promptly lost, but

a long-distance friendship blossomed. He wrote her an impromptu song and invited her to play

with the band. Last Thursday, the now 11-year-old prodigy got her chance. Nandie took the stage

in Southern California and helped close out their show, drumming for the song ever

long. Dave introduced her by saying this person inspired me last year so much in a time

when you would pick up your phone and turn on your computer and all you would have was

bad news. For that one day, you could see this connection between two people that have

never met, making music together and spreading joy and love all across the world. What
