And we begin with a stunner from the NFL.

Andrew Luck, the colts quarterback and former number one draft pick, who was selected for

the Pro Bowl four times, is calling it quits at the age of 29.

The reason?

Too many injuries. He missed all of 2017 because of shoulder surgery, made a comeback in 2018, but was back on the sideline again for the start of the 2019 pre-season.

Luck told reporters over the weekend that his decision wasn't an easy one, but he needed to do something drastic to break the cycle of injury, pain, and rehab. He said he could no longer put his heart into the game and that meant

he'd be selling his teammates and himself short if he tried to play again.

Celebrities and politicians alike are demanding action on the massive wildfires raging in the world's largest rainforest.

The Amazon is known as the lungs of the planet because the vast vegetation takes carbon dioxide out of the

air and puts oxygen back in. In fact, more than 20% of the world's oxygen is produced in that region. Typically it's resistant to fire

but climate change has left it drier than usual and the policies of the president of

Brazil who has pushed development over preservation are reportedly to blame.

Madonna, Leonardo DiCaprio, soccer star Christian Rinaldo,

and dozens of world leaders are among those calling for the end of deforestation.

Right now the smoke is so thick it can be seen from space.

Scientists say there's no easy way to stop what's on fire now.

It will likely just have to burn itself out.

The Amazon fires are expected to be one of the big issues at the G7 meetings in France.

G7 stands for Group of Seven and is made up of the leaders from seven big

democracies including the United States, France, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom,

Italy and Japan.
