This, I want to share with you a case comes out of Georgia, and this is a typical handle on the law question.

I get these constantly, And here is the question.

Gee, Bill, someone mistakenly or the bank mistakenly put money in my bank account,

can I spend it?

No, you can't.

It's not your money.

Now, it's not theft unless you spend it.

It's certainly the money going to your bank is not your mistake.

However, it's not your money either.

So a story out of this Georgia man lives in northeast Georgia, had a ton of money that was put

into his checking account by mistake.

$31,000, I might add.

The bank just blew it.

Stephen Fields, 18 years old, probably has a lot to do with it, went ahead and spent a good chunk of money.

And here's what happened.

His name is Stephen Fields.

There is another customer of the bank by the name of Stephen Fields.

And what a bank teller did was accidentally deposit the check, that deposit of $31,000 into the account of the wrong Stephen Seals.

Fields.

And so what does Stephen do?
