And we begin with a back-to-school bonus for kids in Colorado.

Instead of a five-day school week, one district there is

experimenting with a four-day week, Tuesday through Friday. And yes, that means a

three-day weekend every weekend. School officials say they'll save a lot of money

by not having to run buses on Mondays or hire as many substitutes. Less excited by the

experiment? Working parents who now have to pay for an extra day of child care.

A technology teacher in Georgia just came through for one of his sixth grade students in the biggest way possible.

Yesterday teacher William Wilkinson donated one of his kidneys to 12 year old

Caden. If the transplant is successful,

Caden will be able to come off dialysis,

which is a machine that does the job of kidneys

when they stop working, for the first time in 10 years.

Caden and Mr. Wilkinson will need to lay low for a while, but if all goes well, they'll both

be back at school in about six weeks.

It took an 11-year-old just 10 minutes to prove that our ballot boxes may not be safe come November.

The young cyber sleuth was one of 39 kids who took part in a hackathon where kids tested election day security by

trying to access mock voting websites in six states. If they got in their

mission was to change the results without Without breaking a sweat, 34 of the 39 kids cracked the code,

messed with the numbers, and changed the names of candidates to things like Bob DeBuilder and

Richard Nixon's head.

Election officials were quick to downplay the threat.
