This is Handel on the Law, marginal legal advice, where I tell you you have no case and hopefully ruin your day, because that's always a pleasure to do this.

0:10.5

The Supreme Court of the United States, as you probably know, really likes gun ownership.

0:17.2

They're very big on liberally looking at Second Amendment rights.

0:23.7

And so out of that comes an entire slew of cases.

0:29.6

Now let's go back to the original case of you can carry a gun.

0:33.5

You can have a gun.

0:34.2

It goes back, I don't know, 40 years ago, or even longer, to the Heller

0:38.1

decision. It's out of New York, out of Detroit, where the court said that you can't ban someone

0:43.5

from having a gun in their house if it's for self-protection. That was how limited that was.

0:50.9

1:55.9

for self-defense. Wow. Now, I'm assuming private venues, for example, when you go to a stadium, you go to a ballgame or you go to a concert and they say no weapons. I think they can say that. Public parks? Obviously not. Not in Hawaii. Now, this is a U.S. District Court judge. This is the lowest level of the federal

2:19.6

judiciary system. And then it goes up to the, I think it's the first district is Hawaii. I think it is.

2:27.3

Or the ninth district. Excuse me. Yeah, I think it's a ninth district. And then maybe or maybe not,

2:33.3

it goes up to the Supreme Court.

2:34.7

If I had to guess, the ninth district is going to uphold the lower court judge based on what the

2:43.3

Supreme Court has said.
