It cannot be right that simply displaying a placard in support of a prescribed organisation

while peacefully protesting can result in a conviction and up to six months in prison.

Can I thank and congratulate the police for arresting successfully

so many hundreds of people who broke the law.

Ministers insist they made the right decision.

Supporting Palestine and supporting a prescribed terrorist organisation are not the same thing.

But first, the security minister has stoutly defended the policing of protests

against the banning of the group Palestine Action at the weekend.

890 people were arrested at a rally in London,

most of them for supporting a group which has been

prescribed under the Terrorism Act. 17 people were arrested for assaults on the police.
