And we begin with Hawaii dodging the worst of Hector.

The hurricane passed well south of the Big Island,

sparing locals from having to find out how a direct hit from a powerful storm

would impact an active volcano.

Meteorologists report big waves, a decent amount of wind and rain, but not much else.

For its part, Kilauea didn't seem to notice.

It continues to erupt and will do so, geologists say say for months or even years.

In all likelihood, the city of Detroit just elected the first ever Muslim woman to the U.S. Congress,

Rashida Talib, beat out a bunch of other Democrats to win

her district in Tuesday's primary.

Normally, she'd have to run against a Republican in November's general election, but

since there aren't any in the race, she will either

run unopposed, meaning alone on the ballot, or against a writing candidate.

Either way, she's the overwhelming favor to win and make history.

Can U.S. gyms be far behind?

A chain in Europe just launched Fort Knight Fitness Classes aimed at fighting Fortnite flab.

The goal of course is to get gamers off the couch.

Each class blasts Fortnite music

while kids tackle 12 fortnight dances.
