The fact is that in today's world when everyone has access to everyone else,

you aren't just competing with the people in your neighborhood anymore.

Your competition for that job is now your entire neighborhood, your entire state, and in some

cases the entire world. How are you supposed to compete?

Yesterday we talked about being creative in order to disrupt the norm and get your

message across to a potential employer. But the theme is this, you need to be the one.

When you apply for a job, it needs to be made clear that you are the only choice.

You can't just be another choice, you have to be the choice. And this doesn't just

apply for jobs. Let's say you're a freelancer. You're a freelance writer and you want to

land an important client.

For you, that client is important.

That client could mean the difference between putting food on the table or not.
